WWE News: Chinese superstar Tian Bing added to the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Tian Bing and Triple H.

WWE just announced another name for the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal match and it’s a historic one indeed. The first Chinese superstar in WWE history, Tian Bing will make his main roster debut as part of the 30-man extravaganza on the kick-off show. In case you didn’t know, he is currently wrestling in NXT.

Bing became the first Chinese wrestler to sign up with WWE in June last year. The Shanghai-born wrestler – whose real name is Bin Wang – started wrestling in 2013 and has worked for Inoki Genome Federation (IGF) before joining the big dog in pro wrestling.

WWE has been looking to expand its reach all around the world and China – one of the biggest untapped markets – is their biggest priority at the moment. WWE conducted their first ever live event in China last year with Bing headlining the card in a match against Bo Dallas. It was truly a monumental moment, but just the beginning of the things to come. WWE recently conducted tryouts at the developmental center and invited a host of Chinese wrestlers.

WWE is serious on roping in the Chinese fan base and is pushing Tian Bing to be their face. With Japan already taken over by NJPW, WWE sees money in the Chinese market.

As for Bing, we can only hope has an impressive showing on his first WrestleMania and PPV appearance.

If you haven’t seen his wrestle yet, here are the highlights of his first WWE match against Bo Dallas:
