What’s the story?

Former WWE writer Vince Russo criticised Monday Night Raw commentator, Corey Graves, who then responded to his comments on Twitter.

In case you didn’t know...

Russo was hired by WWE as a magazine writer in 1992, but later became the editor of the magazine and was eventually promoted to the creative team in 1996. Russo worked on the creative team for three years until he jumped ship to WCW.

Russo made a return to the WWE in 2002, but left quickly and eventually went to work for TNA Wrestling until 2004 and rejoined TNA’s creative team in 2006.

The heart of the matter

Russo sent a tweet that criticised the Raw commentators for their lack of interest in the match between Jason Jordan and Braun Strowman, that was announced for later in the show. Russo also singled out Corey Graves by comparing his wardrobe to Pee Wee Herman’s, and ended his message with “#TOOL."

Russo retweeted multiple gifs of Pee Wee Herman from the fans who agreed with him.

Graves responded earlier today and made light of Russo saying he was the driving force of the Attitude Era and compared Russo’s critiques and insults to his 9-year-old child’s. Graves also said that he gave Russo’s podcast some traffic with their interaction.

Russo didn’t respond to Grave’s tweet, but former WWE and TNA superstar Bubba Ray Dudley responded to Graves with this gif of the Death Star from Star Wars.

What’s next?

Russo reviews WWE programming on his podcast so this probably won’t be the last time he has some choice words for anyone who works for WWE.

Author’s Take

Graves is considered by many to be one of the best commentators the WWE currently has, so fans won’t appreciate Russo’s criticism of his skills.
