What’s the story?

Following this week’s episode of WWE 205 Live, it has now been confirmed that two of the brightest stars of the WWE Cruiserweight Division, Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali, will square off against each other at WrestleMania 34, in the finals of the on-going WWE Cruiserweight Title tournament.

In case you didn’t know…

Prior to the arrival of 205 Live’s new General Manager Drake Maverick, WWE fired Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore amid rape allegations that were made public ahead of Raw's 25th Anniversary show.

Amore was also stripped off the WWE Cruiserweight Title and it was confirmed that WWE would go on to host a Cruiserweight Championship tournament in order to crown a new champion.

The heart of the matter

Former Jersey Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion and Chicago native, Mustafa Ali, defeated Drew Gulak on this week's episode of 205 Live in the second semi-final match of the on-going WWE Cruiserweight Championship tournament and earned his spot in the finals.

Ali will now go one-on-one against Cedric Alexander, who defeated Roderick Strong to confirm his place in the final at WrestleMania 34.

As noted, Ali and Alexander will now battle against each other in order to determine the brand new Cruiserweight Champion and the winner of the match will leave New Orleans with the vacant Cruiserweight Title.

What’s next?

WrestleMania 34 will take place on the 8th of April at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana
