What’s the story?
The 2019 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view date and location have been revealed. The Arizona Republic has announced that the Royal Rumble will take place at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona on January 27th, 2019.
In case you didn’t know…
The Royal Rumble has become an incredibly sought after event every year where WWE receives countless top dollar bids from various big cities to host what many consider to be WWE's second biggest event of the year. Chase Field is a baseball stadium in Phoenix.
Although WWE has had more than a dozen events in Arizona throughout the years, this will be the first time they have held a Royal Rumble at the Chase Field. They had previously held the 2013 Royal Rumble in the US Airways Center in Phoenix.
The heart of the matter
Commenting on the announcement, WWE Executive Vice President of Special Events John Saboor had said:
'' We have an incredibly rich history and heritage of presenting WWE events in the Valley of the Sun. In many respects, this serves as an exciting opportunity to work with longstanding and new partners in Phoenix to create four nights of memories. Every year we design something endemic to that particular facility, they are built to fit the stadium that we are going to be in. "
WWE has gone on to relase their own official announcement on the 2019 Rumble weekend. WWE is already expecting more than 40,000 fans at the stadium for the event
What’s next?
As mentioned, the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble will take place at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona on January 27th, 2019. The week will also feature a WWE NXT Takeover event on Saturday, January 26th plus RAW and SmackDown TV events at the nearby Talking Stick Resort Arena.
The 2018 Royal Rumble takes place this Sunday in Philadelphia.

I think it's always great to see WWE debut pay-per-views in venues they have never performed in before, and hosting the event in a baseball stadium will also be a cool stat.
