A good look at The Undertaker after the shocking defeat at WrestleMania XXX

What's the story?

Undertaker's 22nd match of his WrestleMania career happened in New Orleans, Louisiana at WrestleMania XXX. To everyone's shock and surprise, Brock Lesnar pinned The Undertaker to end the streak and become the one behind 21-1.

On Thursday morning, WWE released a director's cut version of this historic match on their YouTube channel.

In case you didn't know...

The Streak began in 1991 at WrestleMania VII when The Undertaker took on Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka in Los Angeles, California.

Talk about The Streak didn't officially begin until 2005 when "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton made it known that he wanted to give Undertaker his first loss at WrestleMania. This was also in Los Angeles at WrestleMania 21, and Orton became the 13th victim.

The heart of the matter

Take a look at the 15-minute director's cut version of Taker and Lesnar below:

The director's cut shows the major moments of the 25-minute epic between these two WWE Superstars with several different camera angles than what was provided on the main broadcast.

The end of the match comes about nine minutes into the video, and that's where the key purpose of the director's cut comes into play. They show a lot of different members of the WWE Universe who were in attendance at the Superdome right after the referee counted the pin.

If you watched this epic encounter, you'll remember how the air was completely sucked out of the arena. At this point, most people thought The Streak was untouchable; which is why there was such a troubling hush among the 75,000 in attendance.

What's next?

While not official yet, it is highly expected that The Undertaker will take on John Cena at WrestleMania 34 on 8 April. With Kid Rock going into the WWE Hall of Fame's celebrity wing, it has also fueled speculation that the American Badass version of The Undertaker could return too.

Monday Night Raw takes place from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio next week. Cena is scheduled to face Undertaker's brother Kane, and it is possible that The Deadman might make his return as well.

Author's take

I think it was great of the WWE to relive history from the last time WrestleMania was in New Orleans with this director's cut. Seeing some of the unseen reactions from the WWE of the shocking defeat of the Undertaker was really cool.

Just like everyone else, I thought The Streak would never end. I will never forget how I felt when it did.
