What's the story?

EC 3, best known for his run in TNA and Impact Wrestling made his official WWE debut at a live event in Dade City. He took on Kassius Ohno and stood tall in the match.

The crowd was shocked and amazed to see him on the card. He will also be competing for the NXT North American Championship on WrestleMania 34 weekend with five other men.

In case you didn't know...

EC 3 was recently spotted at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia, where he stood at ringside, sending the world of wrestling into shock.

Before that, he was a part of the recent Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, Florida, so he is a part of Impact Wrestling's weekly shows, to this day.

The superstar had a fabulous run in Impact Wrestling where he was the World Heavyweight Champion twice, and the Grand Champion on one occasion as well.

The heart of the matter

The crowd was amazed when EC 3 was revealed as Kassius Ohno's opponent for this singles contest. As one would expect, EC 3 picked up the win on his debut as he defeated Kassius Ohno, who's no pushover in the current NXT landscape.

It is clear that EC 3 is being groomed to be a much bigger star in NXT than he was during his previous run with the company as Derrick Bateman. He certainly has the look, work ethic and promo skills that make a great WWE star.

What's next?

As we mentioned before, EC 3 will join Adam Cole, Killian Dain, Lars Sullivan, The Velveteen Dream and Ricochet, in a madder match for the NXT North American Championship. One has to consider him one of the favourites heading into this match. We're certain that he's destined for great things in NXT and the main roster too.

Author's take

I think the world of EC 3. I've been fortunate enough to see him live during the India tapings, and I think he could be a breakout WWE superstar, in the months that follow.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but I totally see him holding gold while in NXT.
