What’s the story?

Earlier tonight, on the NXT: Takeover pre-show, the WWE aired footage of Ember Moon talking about her injury and confirmed that the 28-year-old would be out of action for six months.

The background

Moon wrestled her first televised match at NXT: Takeover in Brooklyn and defeated Billie Kay with relative ease. In the months that followed, she began an undefeated streak and established herself as a force to be reckoned with. Her unbeaten streak came to an end NXT: Takeover last month when she lost to Asuka.

Earlier this month, the WWE announced that she had injured her shoulder during her match with Asuka and would not be able to take part in the fatal 4-way for the NXT Women’s title’ at NXT: Takeover in Chicago. It was subsequently changed to a triple threat featuring Asuka, Ruby Riot, and Nikki Cross.

What’s next?

Moon might be missing from the scene for nearly six months. However, one can expect her to put on some good matches once she returns to in-ring competition.

Author’s take

During her short stint on NXT, Moon has proved that she is a talented worker. As such, I feel that she has a bright future ahead. Let’s hope that she makes a substantial impact upon returning and eventually gets called up to the main roster.
