WWE Rumors: Is Eva Marie leaving the WWE?
WWE isn't too keen to have red-haired superstar in their ranks.
What’s the Story?
Eva Marie hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since August of last year and it could be the last time the WWE Universe sees her as WrestlingInc is reporting that she is finished with the company.
In case you didn’t know...
“The Red Queen of WWE” was taken off SmackDown amidst a huge push after she violated the WWE Wellness Policy before Summerslam. Since then, she has been absent from WWE TV due to her filming schedule in Hollywood.
However, there has been some speculation about her returning to WWE for the SmackDown Women’s Title match at Wrestlemania 33 next weekend.
The heart of the matter
It's being said that Eva Marie is unlikely to return to WWE programming before her contract runs out and that she will not be renewing her deal with the company. In fact, Eva has changed her hair color and hasn't mentioned WWE on social media in months. WrestlingInc also states that WWE would themselves not push for a contract renewal.
It seems her focus is to continue her film career, which she feels is strong enough now to leave WWE.
By the looks of it, she will likely be dropping the Eva Marie name going forward. In that case, Natalie Coyle will be making her feature film debut in "Inconceivable," alongside Nicolas Cage. The movie will be released later this year, and she's filming her next movie titled Action No. 1.
Eva Marie isn't the first WWE Superstar to build her brand with the company only to leave once other offers started flying her way. On paper, it seems like she has gotten her feet wet in movies and depending on how her first role goes, she could be very successful at it.
The WWE Universe was never truly convinced that Eva was a passionate performer, who wanted to be with WWE for years to come. It seems like everyone won in this situation as she wasn’t the most adept performer in the ring and the WWE Universe gave her a lot of flak for it.
