WWE News: An update on Eva Marie's return to SmackDown Live

Eva Marie is yet to make her in-ring debut as a member of Smackdown Live roster

Eva Marie last made an appearance on WWE programming on the August 16th, 2016 edition of Smackdown Live. She was scheduled to be a part of a tag-team match at SummerSlam. Two days later, on August 18th, 2016, Marie was suspended for 30 days due to violating WWE’s Wellness Policy and has not appeared on television since.

However, she could make her return soon on Tuesday nights. Reports claim that she has wrapped up the filming of the movie ‘Inconceivable’, and could turn up as soon as tonight’s episode of Smackdown Live, which will be at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey

Eva Marie’s month-long suspension ended on September 18th, but any ideas for her return to TV were immediately quashed after she landed a movie role, in a film titled ‘Inconceivable’, which also co-stars Nicholas Cage and Faye Dunaway.

The filming of the thriller further pushed her return date, and any and all creative plans WWE might have had for her had to be put on hold. Marie, in the meantime, had also been rehabbing and undergoing physiotherapy to heal some nagging injuries during her time away, serving the suspension.

After being drafted to the blue brand, WWE had big plans for the red-headed diva, as she was a big favourite to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship at the first Smackdown Live exclusive PPV – Backlash.

Prior to her suspension, Eva Marie’s act was one of the most surprisingly entertaining acts on Smackdown, where she would be booked to make her wrestling debut, but some or the other unfortunate and unpredictable circumstance would prevent her from doing so.

It went from her sustaining a hamstring problem, to her being stuck in traffic and unable to make it to the show in time, and even refusing to compete due to a wardrobe malfunction. This was clearly set up for her to finally make her debut at SummerSlam or at the very latest at BackLash.

Will All Red Everything be a part of Smackdown women’s team for Survivor Series?

It will be interesting to see what direction WWE goes with Eva Marie when she does make her impending return. While WWE did have major push in mind for Eva Marie, could those plans have changed after her suspension or will WWE stick to their guns?

Survivor Series will be the upcoming dual-branded PPV, and one of the featured matches for the event is a Smackdown vs RAW Survivor Series 5-on-5 Elimination tag team match.

Eva Marie could very well end up being part of the Smackdown Live women’s team, which is to be captained by the woman who replaced her in the tag-team match at SummerSlam – Nikki Bella.
