A WWE fan hopes to get enough signatures for his petition to have Roman Reigns fired from WWE

What’s the story?

A WWE fan has created a “fire Roman Reigns” petition on Change.org. The petition asserts that WWE’s fans are tired of the company making Roman Reigns “look strong” every week on television.

In case you didn’t now....

Earlier this week, a WWE fan started a petition to have Braun Strowman fired for his vicious assault on Roman Reigns this week on Monday Night Raw. The segment showed Strowman flip Reigns, who was buckled into a stretcher, off a loading deck and then tip over an ambulance with The Big Dog in it.

Of course, Strowman’s assault on Roman Reigns was a work but that did not stop him from having fun with on Twitter.

The heart of the matter

In what seems like a response to the petition to fire Strowman, an anti-Roman Reigns WWE fan created a petition on change.org, where he demanded WWE to fire Roman Reigns. As of this writing, the petition has 2,420 signatures. It needs only 80 more to complete its goal of 2,500.

”Roman Reigns is a lame ass wanna-be wrestler, I don't get it why WWE keep taunting us fans with "Make Roman Look Strong" thing.

We don't like Roman Reigns, Fans all around the world booed their guts out, still WWE pushed him and booked him to defeat The Legend himself "The Undertaker".

Now the fans are more pissed than ever. But Roman Reigns is still there acting like he deserves this.

This BS needs to be stopped. We don't want Roman Reigns in WWE.

Fire Roman Reigns.

Sincerely, a wrestling fan.”

Neither WWE nor Roman Reigns have commented on the petition yet.

What’s next?

Even if the petition reaches its goal, WWE will not fire Roman Reigns. The company is planning to make Reigns its poster child and seeing he is the number one merchandise seller in the company, there is no reason for Vince McMahon to pump the brakes on his mega-push.

WWE will continue planning whatever it has planned for Roman Reigns from now until his rumoured match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 for the WWE Championship.

Author’s take

Although I am an avid advocate for people’s right to protest, I nevertheless feel like this person wasted their time. The WWE acknowledges that some people dislike Roman Reigns, but maintain that it does not matter since he still has enough casual fans to become what the company wants him to be.

Fans who feel like they're being ripped off should protest WWE by no longer spending money their money on the product, because until Vince McMahon’s wallet starts shrinking, he will continue to do what he wants, when he wants, and there will be nothing the hardcore fans can do to stop him.
