WWE News: Father of Braun Strowman is a famous softball player

Strowman’s father is a legend in his own right

What’s the story?

As reported by CBS Sports, WWE superstar Braun Strowman’s father is actually a famous softball player from many years ago. The story comes less than 48 hours after Strowman, who has been on the rise for quite some time now, defeated Roman Reigns at WWE Payback.

In case you didn’t know...

Strowman has been on something of an upward trajectory over the last twelve months, quickly becoming one of the most dominant monster heels in recent times. As such, many fans have been curious as to what his background was beyond his strongman days, with this latest piece of information regarding his father catching quite a few people off guard.

The heart of the matter

According to the aforementioned report, Strowman’s dad is legendary slow-pitch softball player Rick “Crusher” Scherr. The former star was estimated to have hit over 1,800 home runs in his lifetime, with many of those shots having the distance to clear any and all MLB stadiums. As you can see in the attached video, Scherr was in a league of his own in more ways than one.

Author’s take

It’s not surprising to see that success runs in the family for Strowman, and it’s great to get a more personal idea of what the man behind the madness is like. Braun is a highly marketable superstar moving forward for WWE, and despite what some people may think, he could probably work as a babyface if booked correctly following his current heel run.
