What’s the story?

Following their tremendous match at this year’s TLC pay-per-view, AJ Styles and Finn Balor decided to show each other a sign of respect by sharing a ‘Too Sweet’ in the middle of the ring.

In case you didn’t know…

At this year’s TLC PPV, Smackdown Live superstar AJ Styles decided to jump ship to Monday Night Raw for one night only, as he was scheduled to go one-on-one against “The Demon King” Finn Balor.

Finn Balor was originally scheduled to face Bray Wyatt’s alter-ego Sister Abigail, but the match was called off due to Wyatt not being able to make it to Minneapolis. He is reportedly down with mumps. Thus, Wyatt’s replacement on the night was non-other than “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles.

The heart of the matter

Despite Wyatt not being able to make it to the Target Center on October 22nd, we still got to witness “The Demon” Finn Balor in action on the night as he went toe-to-toe in an eighteen minute classic against former WWE Champion AJ Styles.

Both Balor and Styles stole the show as the two men traded some amazing high flying offensive moves and hit each other with their best moves possible. However, it was Balor who reigned supreme after he managed to get the pinfall victory over AJ, following a wicked Coup de Grace from the top rope.

After the match was over, Balor got back to his feet first and helped AJ Styles get back up, the two men then went to embrace each other and share a ‘Too Sweet’ in the middle of the ring as a show of respect.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves would also go on to state AJ and Balor’s past in NJPW and somewhat mentioned their history with Japanese faction, the Bullet Club.

What’s next?

Following his huge victory over Styles, Balor is now likely to focus on the big picture and is most likely to get a shot at Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title in the near future.

As for AJ, he will head back to Smackdown Live and it seemed like “The Phenomenal One” himself is willing to go after the top title in the company, as he looks to challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Title next.

Author’s Take

Personally, I liked the match between Styles and Balor and to see them show respect to each other after the bout, was something really amazing.
