WWE News: Finn Balor being advertised for Roadblock

The Demon King returns this December!

The speculation has been going wild as to when Finn Balor will be returning from injury. Some reports said by the Royal Rumble while others said by the Road to Wrestlemania. Balor’s face is even on the Wrestlemania 33 promotional poster. However, now it seems that we have an official date for his return: December 18th, 2016 at Roadblock.

The Demon King is being advertised for Roadblock. It must be noted that just because he is advertised that does not necessarily mean he is going to wrestle. However, his return has come prematurely, and if he is good to go by January, he may even do what Roman Reigns did in 2014 December, where he announced his participation in the Royal Rumble match a month before the show.

It also must be noted that the name of the PPV itself is not Roadblock. It is titled Roadblock:The End Of The Line. The PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA announced on their social media that Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns will be facing each other in a Universal Championship match. While it is not confirmed, the rumor mill has also been going wild with reports that the direction they are going in is Kevin Owens vs Roman Reigns in a “Champion vs Champion” match. On Raw Talk after Hell In A Cell, Roman Reigns himself said that he was ready to face Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship picture. If that is true, then the build will be starting, and perhaps the night after Survivor Series the match will be made official.

Coming back to Balor, it is indeed great news that his recovery has been speedy. Balor himself and multiple reports had proven that Balor is on a speedy track to recovery, but the rapid pace of his recovery is nothing short of phenomenal. The Demon King himself said on Jim Ross’ podcast The Ross Report that he wants to get back in the ring only once he is a 100% recovered. He has been working hard in rehabilitation in Birmingham, Alabama, where he got his surgery done, and also at the Performance Center. Now that The Demon King is going to be back soon, it will be interesting to see the direction they take him. He technically never lost the Universal Championship, so he has a valid claim to come back and get a rematch right off the bat.
