WWE News: Finn Balor the early favourite to win Royal Rumble 2017
Finn Balor is the betting favourite to win the Royal Rumble 2017, according to The Inquisitr. Regarding the details of the betting odds, the report stated:
“He’s the top guy, in terms of favourites to win the Rumble, with odds listed at 3 to 1 through Kambi betting platforms as of this report. He has 10 to 3 odds via Paddy Power. All that would seem to indicate he will be healthy enough to compete for the match, but that’s still a question mark.”
Some of the other favourites mentioned, are Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins each at 4 to 1 odds, as well as AJ Styles, John Cena, Kevin Owens, and Roman Reigns at 7 to 1 odds each. Chris Jericho’s name is in the mix as well, at 17 to 1.
Betting on a predetermined sport is not the easiest of things, but perhaps The Demon King is a favourite to win because his return is rumoured to be somewhere around that period. Basic logic states that he will be back on the road to Wrestlemania, and given the constant updates on his rehabilitation, a surprise entry at the Royal Rumble is being speculated.
Winning the Royal Rumble would shoot him back into the Universal (or potentially World) title picture at Wrestlemania. However, Balor does have a claim to a Universal Championship match, having never lost it, similar to Seth Rollins who used the same stipulation to get a shot at the title on his return.
Balor has been advertised for Wrestlemania 33, being on the main poster along with the likes of Roman Reigns, Sasha Banks, AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, and John Cena. He was also advertised for Roadblock in the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.
However, Balor refuted claims that he was going to be at the event, which takes place on December 18th, claiming that he will be back in Ireland with his family around Christmas and that he was going to return to the ring by 2017.
