Batista lands role in high profile video game
One of the year's most anticipated video game releases is Gears of War 5, with the major title set to be released on September 10th.
In an interesting announcement made earlier today, former WWE star Dave "Batista" Bautista will be a playable character in the new Gears of War installment, and below is a first look video of The Animal's video game character.
Batista has been having fun with the video game announcement on Twitter, responding to the above fan comment by Tweeting, "Please don’t die until you see me play Marcus in the film!! Don’t die then either! Just don’t die!!"
Batista also hyped his appearance in the game with the following video on Twitter, noting he will be available as a playable character on September 15th, right after WWE's Clash of Champions PPV.
What's next for The Animal?
Batista has been very vocal about wanting to play Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War film, but as of this writing, there remains no word on his status as a character in the impending film franchise.
Batista wrapped up his pro wrestling career when he faced Triple H in a match at WrestleMania 35 earlier this year, and it looks like The Animal's pro wrestling days are done as he announced shortly after the match that he is now retired from wrestling after finishing his career against Triple H.
As for Batista's film career, it is thriving with The Animal set to star in movies such as "The Killer's Game" and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" which are both in pre-production.
Batista has also completed work on upcoming movies such as "My Spy" and "Dune," and he is currently in the process of filming the new "Army of the Dead" movie.
