Heath Slater & Titus O’Neil joined forces in a televised tag team match for the first time in over four years before the August 26 episode of WWE Raw.

The former tag partners, known as Slater Gator, defeated Eric Young & Mojo Rawley in a match that will be shown on Main Event later this week.

When did Heath Slater & Titus O’Neil team together?

The makeshift duo of Heath Slater & Titus O’Neil teamed up in a losing effort against The Usos on an episode of SmackDown in July 2014.

At the time, both men looked set to receive television time as singles competitors following the end of Slater’s alliance with 3MB and O’Neil’s run with Darren Young as The Prime Time Players.

However, WWE’s decision-makers had other ideas and opted to make Slater & O’Neil a permanent duo who mostly appeared on Main Event and Superstars.

Their most notable encounter came in November 2014 at the Survivor Series pay-per-view when they were defeated by Adam Rose & The Bunny in a match lasting just 2 minutes and 36 seconds.

Three months later, their run as a duo came to an end after losing to Roman Reigns & Daniel Bryan in a tag team turmoil match on SmackDown in February 2015.

Heath Slater & Titus O’Neil in 2019

Much like in 2014, Heath Slater & Titus O’Neil currently find themselves without meaningful storylines after splitting from their tag team partners.

Slater’s run with Rhyno officially ended in July 2019 when the ECW legend’s WWE contract expired, while the team of O’Neil & Apollo Crews went their separate ways in October 2018 after Dana Brooke decided to leave Titus Worldwide.

Moving forward, with both former Tag Team Champions struggling for main-roster television time recently, it would not be a surprise if they formed a regular partnership again in the coming months.
