What's the story?

The former Cruiserweight Champion has finally made the move to the main roster. After an incredible run on 205 Live, Buddy Murphy looks to prove to the WWE why he's the Best Kept Secret.

In case you didn't know...

Buddy Murphy joined 205 Live last year during the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. While he didn't win, he showed off some incredibly impressive moves, catching the eyes of the WWE Universe.

A heavy striking, hard hitting, fast paced monster ended up putting the entire cruiserweight division on notice.

Though it took him some time to pick up the Cruiserweight Championship, Murphy would ultimately capture the title by defeating Cedric Alexander, who at that time was undefeated for eight straight months.

Fans of 205 Live probably remember him more, though, for his incredible series against Ali throughout the spring and summer of 2018.

Twitter would light up each and every Tuesday night that these two faced off against each other, and the duo would frequently be awarded match of the week by the fans. Murphy, along with Alexander and Ali, became a staple and necessity on 205 Live.

He had a strong run with the championship, but would ultimately lose the title at WrestleMania to Tony Nese. Now, with no title, Murphy looked for bigger and better things.

The heart of the matter

On SmackDown Live, it was revealed that the former Cruiserweight Champion has made the leap to the Blue Brand. Murphy said that the WWE Universe may not know him now, but they will, as the Best Kept Secret is joining SmackDown.

What's next?

Buddy Murphy is one of the best talents in WWE at the moment, cruiserweight or not. His vast array of moves allow him to work with the majority of the roster, and he proved on 205 Live just how much hate he can garner from an audience.

Plus, with Mustafa Ali on SmackDown Live, there's a chance we can see the return of one of the best feuds in 2018 on the main roster.
