Layla could be hinting at a WWE return

What's the story?

Layla hasn't been seen in WWE since she retired from the wrestling business back in 2015. The former Divas Champion has since avoided the spotlight and worked on a career as a real estate agent, but she could be set to return in the coming week.

In case you didn't know...

WWE needs 30 women to be part of the second annual Women's Royal Rumble match. Given the fact that this year there are two Women's Championship matches as well, 34 women will be showcased as part of the event, which means that the company will need to look for many other legends that weren't part of the match last year.

The fact that many women returned as part of the first Rumble means that there won't be as much of a shock this year. So the WWE will need to look outside the box in order to surprise the awaiting fanbase.

The heart of the matter

Layla is a former Women's and Divas Champion and was part of the company for more than a decade after she won the 2006 Diva Search. The former dancer had feuds with some of the biggest stars in the company at that time, before opting to retire in 2015.

Layla and Michelle McCool were part of a tag team that took over the Women's Division and could well be looking to reunite at The Royal Rumble next weekend.

What's next?

Layla hasn't stepped in the ring in more than three years, but it would be interesting to see if she's one of the 30-women added to the second annual Women's Royal Rumble next weekend.
