WWE News: Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury reunite after a decade
What's the story?
When your story is over in WWE, it doesn't have to be the end. A pair of three-time former WWE Tag Team Champions recently reunited after a decade of separation between them. Needless to say, All Pro Wrestling's audience got an amazing surprise when Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury met in the ring.
In case you didn't know...
During their time as MNM, Johnny Nitro, Melina, and Joey Mercury were a pretty entertaining trio. They would travel to the ring with scores of paparazzi snapping photos while walking down a red carpet laid before them.
Nitro and Mercury picked up the WWE Tag Team Championships three times during their run as a team. But they eventually split up and went their separate ways.
The heart of the matter
The audience in attendance at a recent All Pro Wrestling event got a great surprise when Nitro and Mercury reunited in the ring.
It was an exciting moment and thanks to Brian Zane from Wrestling With Wregret we have a picture of this historic moment, which you find above.
You never know what can happen when you show up at an independent wrestling event. Therefore, it's always a good idea to go to any show in your area not only because you should support indie wrestling, but they're always a great time.
Joey Mercury and John Morrison will keep doing their own thing. Morrison has no shortage of indie bookings and his movie "Boone The Bounty Hunter" deserves a sequel. Although Mercury was released from his WWE contract in January 2017, his return to the indie wrestling circuit as Joey Matthews has been successful so far.
We've witnessed many Superstars move on after their time with Vince McMahon and Company to have amazing careers. Although they might have to alter their name if it's property by WWE, that doesn't mean the character has to totally go away (unless it's Stardust).
It was awesome to see these two former partners reunite in the ring and maybe it will spark another run on the indie wrestling circuit for the seasoned tag team.
