Marc Mero has been a former WWE Intercontinental Champion

Former WWE and WCW star Marc Mero was diagnosed with heart problems this past week. According to the reports of dailywrestlingnews.com, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion is scheduled to have surgery on Monday in Cleveland.

Mero, who is suffering from heart diseases for a while now, has been fighting bravely against all the odds for the past 10 years after having a heart valve replacement surgery. The source of these troubles dates back to 2007 Mero underwent the aforementioned surgery.

The self proclaimed “Happiest Person on the Planet”, Mero had been preparing for this surgery since late 2014 but his enlarged heart shrunk. As a result, he was informed that he didn’t need the operation at that time but eventually he will have to undergo through it.

Marc Mero has performed in several wrestling promotions throughout his career, including WWE, World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Total Nonstop Action (TNA), X Wrestling Federation and many more. During his three year stay in WWE, he held the Intercontinental Championship for once, and won it by defeating Farooq.

In real life, Mero has been an amateur boxer and a motivational speaker as well. He continues to speak to kids around the country about drug usage, steroid and anti-bullying.
