What’s the story?

Former WWE Tag Team Champion and one half of the Dudley Boyz, Bubba Ray Dudley recently took it to his official Twitter handle and reacted to his WWE return at Raw’s 25th Anniversary special earlier this week.

In case you didn’t know…

Following The Dudley Boyz’s departure from WWE in 2016, this was Bubba Ray’s first appearance for the company in almost over year. During his time away from the E, Bubba Ray Dudley was wrestling on the Independent scene for promotions such as WCPW, ICW, and House of Hardcore before Bubba eventually signed for Ring of Honor in 2016.

Upon his arrival in ROH, Bubba teamed up with The Briscoe Brothers and captured the Ring of Honor World Six Man Tag Team Titles. However, later in 2017, Ray started teasing a retirement from Professional Wrestling and eventually went on to wrestle his last match for ROH at the Final Battle pay-per-view in 2017 when he teamed up Tommy Dreamer in a losing effort against The Briscoes.

The heart of the matter

In his latest tweet, Bubba Ray Dudley reacted to his return to the WWE earlier this week, when he and his long-term tag team partner Devon Dudley made a special appearance on Raw and put Heath Slater through a table. Upon his return, Bubba stated on Twitter that it was fun to be back in the ring with Devon Dudley after such a long time. Ray also thanked the WWE Universe in New York City at the Barclays Center for the massive reception they had for The Dudleyz.

Additionally, the former 9-time WWE Tag Team Champion thanked the WWE for inviting him to Raw 25 and also showed his gratitude towards Ring of Honor who worked alongside Ray and helped to make this happen. Lastly, Bubba Ray Dudley also claimed that this is certainly not the last time the WWE Universe witnessed The Dudley Boyz.

What’s next?

As of right now, wrestling fans around the world are not quite sure on what’s next for Bubba Ray Dudley, however, there is a strong possibility that we might get to see the former TNA World Champion competing in the ring later this year.

Author’s Take

I personally think that this is certainly not the end of Bubba Ray Dudley’s in-ring career as he is yet to officially confirm his retirement from the wrestling business. I believe that the next time we see Ray compete in a ring, it will be under the ROH banner.
