WWE News: Goldberg does some MMA training with Duane Ludwig

Ludwig has a new pupil!

It appears as though Bill Goldberg will undergo some intense mixed martial arts (MMA) training in preparation for his expected throw down with Brock Lesnar in the near future, and he chose a great coach to do it.

Goldberg has taken to social media to reveal that he has been training with highly respected mixed martial arts coach Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig. Ludwig has coached some of the most highly accoladed fighters in the sport of MMA today, including top pound for pound fighter and former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.

Ludwig was a key component to Dillashaw’s success inside the Octagon, and now it appears as if he will be assisting Goldberg as he prepares to step inside the squared circle with the former UFC heavyweight champion in Brock Lesnar.

Recently, Goldberg made his long awaited WWE return on Monday Night RAW to answer Brock Lesnar’s challenge, that was made though Brock Lesnar’s advocate on an episode of Monday Night RAW earlier this week.

In one of the most chilling promos of his career Goldberg issued his acceptance of Lesnar’s challenge and stated that he was ‘next’ but also and most importantly, he is ‘last’.

Lesnar and Goldberg previously met at Wrestlemania 20 a few years ago, an epic contest in which the former WCW champion was able to emerge victorious. Goldberg has not wrestled since that match, while Lesnar has gone on to accomplish quite a lot in his athletic career.

Lesnar is now a former NFL lineman, former heavyweight champion in the UFC, one of the most feared mixed martial artists of all time and a multiple time WWE champion.

With Lesnar having improved so much since their first meeting, and Goldberg not having done much since riding the sidelines, the rematch should be quite an interesting one.

Here is a video uploaded by Goldberg on Instagram of him hitting pads with Ludwig:
