WWE News: Goldberg reveals strange request made by his son on Twitter

Goldberg celebrated his Survivor Series victory with his son

What’s the story?

Goldberg recently tweeted about a bizarre request from his son.

In case you didn’t know…

Goldberg made one of the most memorable comebacks in WWE history after being away from the business for over 12 years. He began by defeating Brock Lesnar at last year’s Survivor Series in a match which lasted just 1 minute and 26 seconds.

A couple of months later, ‘The Myth’ took part in the Royal Rumble match and managed to eliminate 3 superstars including Lesnar. He even became the Universal Champion at the Fastlane pay-per-view as he beat Kevin Owens thanks to a distraction by Chris Jericho.

His dream run, though, came to an end at WrestleMania 33 when he lost the Universal title to ‘The Beast Incarnate’ in what was billed as one final match between the two WWE greats.

The heart of the matter

Goldberg tweeted about his son asking him if he could chokeslam his mother. Here’s the tweet from the iconic wrestler:

During his comeback run, Goldberg mentioned on a number of occasions that it was his son who inspired him to be his former self once again. He also often spoke about wanting to show his family the world that he used to be a part of.

The WCW legend celebrated with his son inside the ring soon after his Survivor Series win over Brock Lesnar. In his final WWE appearance on the Raw Talk show the following night after WrestleMania, he asked his son to join in as they bid goodbye to the WWE Universe.

Going by Goldberg’s tweet about his son, it seems that witnessing WWE action from the front row has left a lasting impression on the youngster. So much so, that he now wants to replicate whatever he has seen in the ring over the past few months.

What next?

Although the possibility of Goldberg coming back to the WWE yet again is a vague one at present, it certainly cannot be ruled out.

Author’s Take

What Goldberg’s son saw during his return to the WWE was not even a shadow of the dominant figure that his father used to be. Had he seen that side of ‘The Myth’, it is likely that he wouldn’t even have sought his dad’s permission before performing wrestling moves at home.
