WWE News: Goldberg sings Braun Strowman's praises, says he has a high ceiling

Goldberg recently had some high praise to lay on Braun Strowman during Eric Bischoff's podcast.

Goldberg has high praise for Strowman

What’s the story?

Now that Goldberg is finished with his WWE run (for now), a lot of us have been wondering about his thoughts on the current iteration of the company. Eric Bischoff recently had the former WWE Universal Champion on his show called “Bischoff on Wrestling”, and Goldberg had some high praise for one big man on the Raw brand.

The background

Prior to last year’s Survivor Series, the last time Goldberg appeared in WWE was at WrestleMania XX in 2004. The company was, obviously, a different place than it is now. Eric Bischoff wanted to know something just along those lines.

The heart of the matter

Bischoff asked Goldberg who he thought the next big star in the company was going to be. Goldberg responded emphatically with:

“I can’t do that!”

Of course, he did elaborate on that a bit right after:

“I really can’t give you that answer because not only can’t I predict the future, I’m not good in Vegas, whatever the landscape is now it can drastically change in the next six to twelve months.”

Finally, he went on to discuss a particular Superstar he was impressed by:

“As far if I had to go just based on a package and what could be done with it? I’d say Braun [Strowman] has a lot of potential. Lot of potential. If in every scenario everything was done properly and who is to say what is proper? If it’s properly massaged and cultivated with what he has to present against others. His package is pretty good. He’s got a high ceiling. He’s like the big guys from the past.”

What’s next?

WWE clearly feels the same way about Strowman that Goldberg does. He’s already been in a high profile feud with Roman Reigns and a program with current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has been hinted at previously.

Author’s take

I’m still not 100% sold on Strowman as the big monster heel the WWE has been really needing. But, I’m hoping he proves me wrong. either way, I think we can expect to see plenty of Braun Strowman on WWE television in the immediate future.
