WWE News: Hall of Famer Jim Duggan on the Roman Reigns dilemma

Speaking from experience

– Hacksaw Jim Duggan had one hell of a career in the WWE. The Hall of Famer was the first ever winner of the Royal Rumble tournament in 1989. Duggan who wrestled for various companies spoke with Jim Ross on the 108th episode of the Ross Report. Jim Duggan spoke about various things about wrestling and had an interesting opinion about the current golden boy of the WWE, Roman Reigns.

Duggan said that Reigns has been pushed too fast and too hard for the fans liking. The fans have been against Reigns since the Royal Rumble even though WWE has tried extremely hard to push him to main event status. "They're pushing him down the folks' throat. I mean, they're pushing him too hard. It's a different business nowadays." Dugan added, "They just seem to be pushing him too hard. Take your time."

Duggan also praised Roman Reigns and said that he was worth the investment by the WWE. He said that he has the look and the skill to be a top star but does not know how he will win back his fans.

"To be that marquee guy for WWE, you've got to have a certain kind of look and he's a handsome guy, good body, a lot of teeth. He's got that marquee type [of] appeal if the people accept him. How do you do that? I can't tell you. You can't coach that. It's something that some people have."
