WWE News: Huge A-List name offered Vince McMahon role in upcoming biopic

Who
Who would you cast to play Vince McMahon?

What's the story?

Everyone is excited about the upcoming Vince McMahon biopic, Pandemonium. But who will play the part of Vince McMahon for the film?

PW Insider reports that an offer has been made for an Acadamy Award-nominated actor to play Mr. McMahon, and if it happens, this could mean big things for the project.

In case you didn't know...

There have been rumblings of a Vince McMahon biopic for a while now but it wasn't until WWE Studios finally picked up the script when things really got turned up a notch.

Writer Craig A. Williams whose other credits include the Underdog movie was responsible for penning the script and there were plenty of scandalous details in the pages. Some of the more provocative things were actually huge exaggerations of reality if they even happened at all.

The heart of the matter

TriStar and WWE Studios want to make a big impression with the Vince McMahon biopic. Their plan is to cast a huge mainstream actor in the role of Vince McMahon. PW Insider reports an offer has been given to Bradley Cooper's representation about portraying The Chairman Of The Board in the upcoming picture.

Cooper is an Acadamy Award-nominated actor for his role in Silver Linings Playbook but he might be best known for his role in the Hangover franchise. His talents would certainly lend legit credibility to this project.

What's next?

If WWE Studios is going to put out a Vince McMahon biopic you can probably expect it to be whitewashed a bit. You will most likely see Mr. McMahon coming off as a visionary and a hero.

Some of the darker aspects of Williams' original script might very well hit the cutting room floor during scrip edits before they're even filmed.

But it will still be a very interesting picture, especially if WWE is involved. Hopefully, they will be able to authentically tell the story about how Vince McMahon changed pro wrestling and coined the term sports entertainment.

Author's take

Bradley Cooper would be an amazing choice to play Vince McMahon. But with that kind of star power on the marquee for the film, it really needs to deliver.

Therefore it will be a good indication of the film's quality if Cooper accepts the role. After all, at this stage in his career, he has the ability to only chose projects that are worth his time.
