Hulk Hogan Verdict: Awarded $115 million in Gawker suit

Finally, a much-needed breather for the Hulkster!

Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, was awarded $115 million late Friday in a lawsuit against Gawker, according to Associated Press reports.

Hogan was suing Gawker for releasing a sex tape that involved him and a friend’s wife, initially reported for an amount of $100 million. The release of the video proved to be even more troublesome for Hogan than most such tapes because he was heard using racial slurs and talking in a derogatory manner about black people.

Due to that, he was excluded from any involvement in the WWE, and his status with the WWE Hall of Fame has been in question ever since, although no official word about the same has been announced as of yet.

Hogan tweeted a response to the news after the decision came down.

Eric Bischoff, who famously worked with Hogan in the WCW during the NWO era, as well as in WWE and TNA, also took to Twitter to react to the news.

The decision comes less than a week after his ex-wife Linda read a letter highlighting the effects the case had on her life on the television show “Inside Edition.”
