WWE News: Hulk Hogan close to reaching new deal with WWE
What’s the story?
Apparently, Hogan returning to the WWE sooner rather than later is indeed now a realistic possibility.
In case you didn’t know…
Hulk Hogan is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, having performed for several notable promotions such as NJPW, WCW, WWE and TNA (Impact Wrestling) to name a few.
Hogan was released from the WWE back in 2015, in light of a few tapes surfacing on the internet—tapes in which Hogan was seen mouthing racist profanities.
The heart of the matter
Hulk Hogan hasn’t performed for any notable pro-wrestling organization after his 2015 firing from the WWE.
Nevertheless, Hogan was featured in HBO’s documentary on Andre The Giant—with WWE later clarifying that Hogan’s participation in the event was strictly due to his significance in Andre’s career. WWE issued a statement noting that while they’ve been in talks with Hogan, so as to rope him in to “help others learn from his mistakes”, “The Hulkster” is not contracted to appear at any WWE events.
Additionally, during his recent induction speech at the Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame, Hogan spoke about his intentions of helping educate the younger generations to not use racist language like he did in the past.
Furthermore, TMZ Sports has now revealed that Hogan and WWE have been in contact, and all talks between the two parties have been “positive” thus far.
Hogan was also one of the talents who were requested to appear by the fans in Saudi Arabia for WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble event, however, the former WWE Champion didn’t visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last month.
Hulk Hogan till date enjoys a huge fan-following the world over, and him potentially returning to the WWE is being noted as something that would be quite significant, from a historical perspective in the pro-wrestling industry.
Fans can expect additional details on Hogan’s possible new deal with WWE in the days to come.
Hulk Hogan is a legend of the sport and seems to be genuinely apologetic about his past behaviour.
Several performers, as well as fans, have been clamouring for Hogan to be rehired by WWE, but whether or not that happens, remains to be seen.
