What's the story?

Hulk Hogan is, to many, the face of wrestling. However, his use of a racial term in a private conversation led him to be estranged from WWE.

Hogan was interviewed by Associated Press where he said that Triple H would love to see him back in WWE, but when the publication reached out to WWE for a comment, the company had not changed its mind about the situation. We thank SEScoops for the heads up.

In case you didn't know...

Hulk Hogan was the primary reason that wrestling experienced a boom period in the 80s. As the face of WWE, he was part of several programs as 'The Real American', battling Giants, turncoats and warriors in the ring.

Hogan's relationship with WWE was estranged after he was caught making racist comments in a private video. The whole wrestling fraternity was disappointed, and how!

The heart of the matter

When Hogan was interviewed about a return to WWE, he had this to say:

I don’t know if they want me back. I think the fans want me back. I think that I’m part of that company from the ground up. Triple H I know is a huge fan of the guys that gave their blood, sweat and tears and their personal life to make this happen.

He concluded by saying that Triple H would love to see The Hulkster on the inside again. Unfortunately, when Associated Press reached out to WWE, this was the response.

At this time, WWE remains committed to its decision.

What's next?

Hulk Hogan is a notable omission from the RAW 25th Anniversary Special. Who knows if the company will forgive Hogan in its lifetime? Who knows if even fans will?

Author's take

As an Indian, it's difficult for me to comment on a topic as sensitive as this, considering that I'm far removed from it all. I'd love to see Hogan return myself, considering he's been one of my heroes growing up.

It's pretty hard to stomach the idea of a 25th Anniversary show with Hulk Hogan not present, but yeah, he did mess his own situation up with his comments.
