What's the story?

The Hype Bros put up a valiant effort against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin at Hell in a Cell with Rawley looking especially dominant, kicking out of a moonsault from Gable. However, they failed to turn their losing streak around this time as they picked up yet another loss.

In case you didn't know...

Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley were walking into Hell In a Cell looking to put their recent string of bad results, miscommunication and arguments behind them. Meanwhile, most of the WWE universe thought they'd be breaking up as a tag team.

The tag-team had been displaying all of the classic signs of dissension in recent weeks. On the September 12th SmackDown LIVE, Ryder left his partner following a previous loss to Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable and on the September 26th SmackDown LIVE, Mojo Rawley and Zach Ryder cost themselves a win with a miscommunication.

Nevertheless, the pair went into Hell In A Cell determined to pull themselves together as evidenced by this video from the WWE

The heart of the matter

Despite the fact that Mojo Rawley managed to kick out of this, the Hype Bros still couldn't get the win when it mattered the most.

However, they didn't break up like everyone thought, and it tweets from both Zach Ryder and Mojo Rawley seem to convey that they are both trying to remain positive and are both committed to making their tag-team work.

What's next?

The breakup could still happen this Tuesday at SmackDown LIVE, or we could be in store for a gimmick change or double heel turn for the Hype Bros. However, it is almost impossible that they will continue as same for long.

Author's Take

I really thought the payoff for this storyline would happen at HIAC but it seems that WWE wants to make us wait before unveiling the final twist in this tale.
