One of the most talked things about the United States championship match on tonight's Battleground PPV was the ring gear wore by the challenger Zack Ryder.
Ryder, who is a former United States champion himself, wore a Red, Blue and White outfit for his match fashioned after the national flag. Apparently, the dress was inspired by not one but three WWE legends.
As seen in the below tweet, Ryder posted a collage featuring 3 WWE Hall of Famers including 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage, 'The Icon' Sting and The Ultimate Warrior in their ring gears and Zack wearing his latest fusion dress indicating that it was inspired by these three legends:
As seen in the PPV, Ryder challenged the current United States champion Rusev for his title. Unfortunately, the former Intercontinental Champion proved to be just another failed challenger in Rusev's quest to become one of the most dominant United States champions in the coveted history of the title.
It's notable here that since Ryder and Rusev have been drafted to different brands,WWE is most likely not to continue their feud in the upcoming time so this may be the last time we will see Ryder competing for the US title for a while.
