WWE News: Jack Swagger on the real reason behind his WWE exit

Jack Swagger and WWE management reportedly had a difference of opinion regarding his pay.

What’s the story?

In a recent interview with Main Event Radio, former WWE Heavyweight champion Jack Swagger revealed the real reason behind his recent departure from WWE.

In case you didn’t know...

Jack Swagger, whose real name is Donald Jacob Hager Jr., competed in the WWE from 2006 until earlier this year, when both parties confirmed reports about their mutual split.

The heart of the matter:

The 35-year old Swagger who’s a self-proclaimed family man now, has revealed that the main reason behind his WWE exit is money. The All-American stated-

“I had been with the company for 10 years. I’m very fortunate for the career that I had. What it really was is a business decision. I valued myself at a certain price, they valued it at another.”

Furthermore, he also revealed that seeing his contemporaries namely Cody Rhodes and Drew Galloway leave the WWE and find success on the independent pro-wrestling circuit, did in fact play a significant role in encouraging him to muster up the courage to part ways with the world’s biggest professional wrestling promotion.

He mentioned that as of now, he wouldn’t mind going to Japan in order to compete in promotions overseas. Besides, there has been widespread speculation in the pro-wrestling community regarding a potential run by Swagger in Impact Wrestling, given the fact that his former WWE mentor Zeb Colter aka Dutch Mantel is now working with Impact.

What’s next?

Swagger’s no-compete clause of his WWE contract is expected to run out soon, after which he is free to test the waters as a free agent in the sport.

Author’s take:

A potential run with Impact Wrestling alongside Dutch Mantel is definitely a possibility for the All-American.
