WWE News: James Ellsworth on keeping in touch with Carmella after release
What’s the story?
On a recent edition of Talk Is Jericho, James Ellsworth opened up on a myriad of topics.
Most prominently, Ellsworth revealed that he and Carmella still keep in touch after his release.
In case you didn’t know…
James Ellsworth has been performing in the sport of professional wrestling since 2002.
Ellsworth worked for the WWE from 2014, however, he rose to prominence a couple of years into his WWE stint, partaking in a feud between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose over the WWE Championship.
The heart of the matter
James Ellsworth’s final days as a WWE Superstar saw him serve as a manager for Miss Money In The Bank Carmella, however, the latter eventually turned on Ellsworth and relieved him of his managerial duties.
Ellsworth was released from the WWE in November of last year and has since been working on the independent professional wrestling circuit. Nevertheless, speaking to Chris Jericho, Ellsworth emphasized that he and Carmella still keep in touch—
“She (Carmella) stayed on the phone with me until I was ready to get off. We text almost every day.”
James Ellsworth presently pursues a career on the indie pro-wrestling circuit, and fans can follow regular updates of his exploits on his official Twitter account.
On the other hand, Carmella attempted to cash in her Money In The Bank briefcase against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, however, despite being attacked by The Riott Squad Flair managed to get to her feet, owing to which Carmella didn’t go through with the MITB cash-in.
Carmella may very well be one of the kindest people backstage in the WWE.
Despite her storyline differences with James Ellsworth, she seems to genuinely care about the latter. Well, given ‘The Chinless Wonder’s’ reputation for being a charmer, it shouldn’t be all that surprising.
