What's the story?

Earlier today, recently released WWE superstar James Ellsworth, took it to his official Twitter account and revealed the names of all the superstars he would like to face-off against in the Independent scene.

In case you didn't know…

James Ellsworth is a former Smackdown Live superstar who was first signed by the company in 2014, as one of Adam Rose's rosebuds. However, in 2016 Ellsworth was promoted to the Smackdown Live main event scene and got involved in a storyline with then WWE Champion AJ Styles and his rival at the time, Dean Ambrose.

Ellsworth played the role of a manager for Ambrose but, was also seen competing in matches on Smackdown Live. The 33-year-old also had the chance to share the ring with AJ Styles and has also defeated "The Phenomenal One" on three different occasions.

In 2017, however, Ellsworth aligned himself with Carmella and became the manager for the first ever Ms Money in the Bank. On November 15th, 2017, Ellsworth was released from his WWE contract and was fired from the company after spending three years in Vince McMahon's promotion.

The heart of the matter

Earlier today, James Ellsworth posted a photo of a list of wrestlers who he wants to face-off against, following his departure from the WWE.

In his list, Ellsworth wrote that he would like to step in the ring with the likes of Rosemary, Candice Le Rae, Mia Yim, former WWE star Emma, Britt Baker and more, you can see the whole list below in this tweet:

However, as noted, one of the exceptions in Ellsworth's list is current UFC Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg, whom Ellsworth has invited to step into a wrestling ring and has also listed as one of his dream opponents.

What's next?

Ellsworth is currently under a no-compete clause by the WWE, but we can soon expect to see the former UCW Heavyweight Champion back in the Independents in 2018. There is also a possibility that wrestling fans might get to witness some of these matches come true on various Independent promotions around the world.

However, it will be interesting to note if Ellsworth manages to get Cris Cyborg step into a wrestling ring anytime soon.

Author's Take

Personally, I believe that we might get to see some of these matches come true on the Indies and Ellsworth might be able to achieve his dream after all.
