Could Jordan defeat Reigns to become the new Intercontinental Champion?

What's the story?

Roman Reigns has been very vocal about potential contenders for the Intercontinental Championship stepping up to the plate, to claim the big prize. It may seem like Samoa Joe is hot on his trail right now, but from the looks of it, he may have yet another potential opponent.

Jason Jordan accepted Roman Reigns' open challenge on Instagram. Jordan praised the match between Elias and Roman Reigns on RAW, last week, but stated that he's beaten Elias in the past.

In case you didn't know...

Much in the vein of John Cena, the man whose career he has emulated thus far, Roman Reigns aims to make the Intercontinental Championship prestigious, by issuing a weekly open challenge for the championship. Here is a tweet he sent out last week.

Jason Jordan did respond to the open challenge last week, but instead, it was Elias who got a shot at Reigns' title instead.

The heart of the matter

This was the challenge issued by the kayfabe son of Kurt Angle on social media, going into RAW this week:

Roman Reigns, if that Open Challenge is being issued, then I'd love to accept. I saw you gave Elias a chance last week, and you guys had a hell of a match. But, I beat him too.
So this week, why don't you put that title on the line against me and we'll find out whose yard it really is.

Jason Jordan and Roman Reigns have had a fantastic match in the past. Can they recreate their magic yet again, on the red brand?

What's next?

It remains to be seen if Reigns will accept Jason Jordan's challenge. Jordan has been chickening out of big matches, almost on a weekly basis. We wonder if he will continue this tradition if the big match is booked.

Author's take

Both men are incredible workers, and I wouldn't mind watching these two men mix it up once again.

It is extremely doubtful that Jordan will win the Intercontinental Championship, even if this match transpires. However, he could certainly use this title more than Roman Reigns, honestly.
