WWE News: JBL blocks fans who are tweeting in support of Mauro Ranallo

JBL and Mauro Ranallo has been a part of the Smackdown Live commentary team

What’s the story?

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer pointed out that WWE legend and Smackdown play-by-play commentator, JBL, has been blocking several Twitter users lately. The number of users he has blocked has been increasing day by day and the list even includes the likes of current ROH Tag team Champions, The Young Bucks.

In case you didn’t know...

There are reports indicating that altercations with JBL aggravated the mental illness of the ‘Voice of Smackdown Live’ Mauro Ranallo and it has led to him missing several shows of the blue brand.

The heart of the matter

Ranallo’s commentary brought a new life to SmackDown episodes. However, it now seems that JBL’s actions will deprive the WWE Universe of Ranallo’s enthusiastic commentary. As a result, several fans have been tweeting in support of Mauro and mocking JBL. In fact, these have led to numerous ‘#FireJBL’ tweets.

JBL has denied accusations of bullying his fellow SD commentator on multiple occasions but he just cannot stop the tweets from fans who support Ranallo. The only thing he can do is block them.

What’s next?

Ranallo’s contract with the WWE is set to expire in August of 2017 and it is almost certain that he will never return to the show again. As for JBL, it is safe to assume that the number of users on his blocked list will continue to increase.

Author’s take

Without a doubt, JBL has contributed immensely to the world of pro-wrestling but we cannot ignore the fact that his name is associated with several backstage bullying incidents. If JBL is indeed guilty, then WWE must take action before talents like Mauro Ranallo leave the company.
