JR thinks he'll play a part in New Orleans

What's the story?

Well, it's always a pleasure to see or hear Good Ol' JR in WWE, and it seems like we may not need to wait too long until his next appearance.

In a recent interview, Jim Ross stated that he's very optimistic WWE will use him at WrestleMania in some way.

In case you didn't know

Jim Ross last appeared on WWE television when he and Jerry Lawler hosted the Manhattan Center portion of Raw 25, commentating on the Undertaker's return and a segment where DX reunited and, along with Scott Hall and the Good Brothers, laid waste to The Revival.

Jim Ross also appeared on commentary last year at WrestleMania when he called what was thought to be The Undertaker's last ever match against Roman Reigns, although now it is rumoured that The Deadman may return to face John Cena at this year's spectacle.

The heart of the matter

Well, Jim Ross already has a packed schedule for WrestleMania week, and it's no surprise as he is highly revered among the wrestling faithful, but he said this week on Wrestling Observer Radio that he believes that week may be rounded off with an appearance on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

I’m very optimistic that I will be utilized in some way on Sunday in the [Super] Dome. That dome is a special place for me for a lot of reasons because my history goes back there a lot even before Crockett years.

JR continued...

That’s where we stayed every Thursday night in that Hyatt hotel across from the Super Dome as it was known then and that was our Thanksgiving and every week, that really endured me to my two previous wives not being home for Thanksgiving but nonetheless I was booked, honey.

What's next?

With WrestleMania less than four weeks away, there's every chance Jim Ross may yet be confirmed to appear at WrestleMania 34.

Author's take...

Personally, I'd love to see and hear JR at WrestleMania 34. He is truly a staple of any wrestling fan over 20's childhood and seems like one of the good guys in the business. If the Cena v Undertaker match comes to fruition, Ross would be absolutely perfect on commentary!
