What’s the story?

Following his WWE Title loss to AJ Styles in this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, former champion Jinder Mahal took it to his social media to state his title loss to “The Phenomenal One”.

Mahal made a heartfelt post on his Instagram regarding his rise to the top and his WWE title reign.

In case you didn’t know…

Earlier this year, at the Backlash pay-per-view Jinder Mahal defeated Randy Orton to win the WWE Championship for the first time in his career. Mahal would go on to defeat numerous top-level superstars such as the likes of “The Viper” and also “The Artist” Shinsuke Nakamura.

On this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, Mahal would defend his WWE Title against AJ Styles in Manchester in a match that saw Styles come out on top and end “The Maharaja’s” reign at 170 days, after beating him in an intense match in front of the UK crowd.

Styles went on to become a two time WWE Champion following his win over Jinder Mahal.

The heart of the matter

Earlier today, Mahal took to his Instagram account and made a post on the basis of his six month WWE Title reign. Mahal stated in his post that AJ Styles was the better man for one night.

He also added that for six months Mahal held the WWE Title and defended it on numerous occasions, all over the world. “The Modern day Maharaja” also said that he will rise from this defeat and will get back on top once again by winning the title for the second time.

Jinder Mahal would then address all his haters by clarifying that he was not injured and he also did not fail the WWE wellness policy. He ended the post by claiming that the more his haters throw shade at him, the more it motivates the former WWE Champion.

What’s next?

As for Jinder Mahal, we are yet to know what the WWE’s current plans are for him. But, Mahal will arrive in India next month when WWE Live takes over the city of Delhi, on December 8th and 9th.

However, Mahal is still being advertised as the WWE Champion for WWE’s India tour; where he was supposed to be defending his WWE Title against Kevin Owens.

Author’s Take

I believe that following Survivor Series, Jinder Mahal will invoke his rematch clause and become a two time WWE Champion by beating Styles and will go on to eventually headline WWE’s India tour.

However, AJ Styles as WWE Champion is what I think is the current and best decision for WWE to move forward with, in the main-event scene.
