WWE News: Jinder Mahal speaks out about Randy Orton, Great Khali and representing India

What's the story?

Jinder Mahal gave a recent interview to QC News, where he talked about what he thinks of Randy Orton, how the experience of wrestling Great Khali was and what it is like to represent India.

In case you didn't know...

For the longest time, Jinder was nothing but a glorified jobber as he lost almost every match which he took part in.

Jinder Mahal has feuded with Orton over a long period and won the championship from him back in May at Backlash. Jinder has successfully defended his title a number of times against Randy Orton and once against Nakamura. Though it was a huge surprise when he became the champion since then Jinder has dominated with the help of the Singh brothers.

He wrestled in India while not under contract to WWE, in a match against the Great Khali, in Delhi.

Heart of the matter

With regards to fighting against Khali, he was very enthusiastic due to the response that his match received in India.

"It was amazing; we had over 60,000 people. It was a great reception. ... The fans were very passionate, very proud."

When asked about Randy Orton he was vociferous with praises for the Viper but was sure to add in the end that it is his job to walk out as the Champion and he plans to do so in the upcoming match with Randy.

"He's an incredible performer, 13 times champion. Randy is there to ultimately take the WWE championship away from me. It's my duty to ensure I walk out of Moline the WWE champion."

Jinder also talked about the popularity of WWE in India and the huge viewership that is there, saying that he felt they (Indians) were proud to have him as a WWE champion representing them in the foreign nation. He also mentioned his uncle, Gama Singh, a wrestler who was a brilliant heel in his time, as being one of the big influences in his life.

What's next?

Jinder will go into Saturday's main event at Moline, defending his title against the Viper again, and he will look to get out of there as the Champion with the help of his ever present Singh Brothers.

The makeover that Jinder Mahal has gone through from his time as a jobber is extremely impressive and speaks to the dedication and passion that he has for wrestling. His push came hard and fast, and during his time as champion, he has improved at promos as well as in the ring.

The time may be here, however, where the fairytale story is brought to an end. With a lot of empty seats in every Smackdown, Jinder may be a great heel now, but it would be more beneficial to him as well as the rest of the roster if was a great heel in a lower card than the main event.
