WWE News: Johnathan Coachman talks ESPN, WWE, and more

Coachman has a wealth of experience in the sports business

In a recent appearance on The Jim Ross Report with Jim Ross, current ESPN Sportscentre presenter Jonathan Coachman aka The Coach – who previously worked with WWE as a commentator, shared his thoughts on rejoining WWE, ESPN, as well as a range of other topics – reports wrestlinginc.com.

When asked whether a return to WWE was on the cards, Coachman shot down the possibility, but did not rule out returning to the franchise on a part time basis if given the chance. The presenter confessed that he would accept the chance to return to RAW as The Coach ‘in a heartbeat’.

The 40-year-old also discussed ESPN’s partnership with WWE, stating that when he first broached the idea of associating with his former employer, it was shot down for three years. However, his bosses at ESPN finally warmed up to the idea and hence the partnership was born.

Coachman is of the opinion that the ‘Off The Top Rope’ segment which he hosts has not only strengthened his credentials but also helped him forge relationships between ESPN and WWE.

The presenter worked for WWE from 1999 to 2008 before quitting to join his current employer ESPN.
