What's the story?

WWE Cruiserweight Star, Kalisto, was struck in the face by a water bottle hurled by a fan on this week's episode of 205 Live. His wife revealed in an Instagram post that the WWE Star needed stitches and possibly suffered a fracture from the incident.

An update by a WWE official also confirmed the fan responsible for the injury, had been caught.

In case you didn't know...

During this week's 205 Live which took place in Newark, New Jersey, when Kalisto was selling an attack from Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick, a water bottle thrown by a fan hit him in the mouth. The incident was caught on camera and shows the Cruiserweight star getting hit on the mouth by a bouncing water bottle.

The heart of the matter

Kalisto's wife's post on Instagram berated the fan who had thrown the bottle at her husband. She went on to express her disbelief at the fact that someone thought it was appropriate to ridicule someone who lives to entertain others for getting hurt.

"I am in disbelief with those that think it's ok to ridicule (poke fun of) someone who lives their life to entertain others. If it was you in the situation, you wouldn't be laughing now would you?!"

She went on to say that stitches were needed as well as an MRI and indicated that there was the possibility of a fracture.

A tweet by WWE's Talent Parking Coordinator indicated that the fan who had thrown the bottle was caught.

Author's take

Injuries are part and parcel of the life of every wrestler. They take part in high-risk moves that could hurt them physically at any point in time. Injuries inflicted by fans on wrestlers, however, could be avoided if the fans behaved responsibly.
