What’s the story?

WWE announced today that Enzo Amore will get a chance to win back the Cruiserweight Championship against Kalisto at the TLC pay-per-view.

In case you didn’t know...

Enzo won the Cruiserweight Championship at the No Mercy pay-per-view when he hit Neville with a low blow and a roll-up pin for the victory. The next night on Monday Night Raw, Enzo was attacked by Braun Strowman, Neville and the rest of the Cruiserweight division which resulted in the entire division losing their chance at challenging for the Cruiserweight Championship.

However, General Manager Kurt Angle remedied the situation the following week and announced the addition of Kalisto to the Cruiserweight division and made him the No. 1 Contender for the title.

The heart of the matter

Kalisto's bout with Enzo will mark his first title defence since winning the championship against Enzo this past week on Raw.

Kalisto was initially to face Enzo for the title at TLC which was announced prior to the start of Monday Night Raw. But Raw GM, Kurt Angle announced that Enzo will defend his title at the main event on Raw against Kalisto, which Kalisto won.

Prior to Monday night, Kalisto and Enzo had never had a meeting in singles competition. The last time both men were in opposition to each other was back in NXT when Enzo & Cass faced Kalisto and Sin Cara to determine the No. 1 Contender for the NXT Tag Team Championships in March 2015.

What’s Next?

The TLC pay-per-view will emanate from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and will take place on Oct. 22, 2017.

Author’s Take

Before Monday, Enzo and Kalisto had no history as rivals, so next week's Raw and 2015 Live will be crucial to building up the story between the Cruiserweight’s newest luchador and the Certified G.
