What’s the story?

In a recent interview with Miami Herald, WWE veteran Kane spoke about his next big match, which is scheduled to take place at this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman, for the WWE Universal Championship.

In case you didn’t know…

Following his return in 2017, former World Champion Kane got immediately got into a feud with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. The two behemoths have collided against each other on many occasions in the last few months of 2017. A few weeks ago, during an episode of Raw, the two men faced off in a #1 contender’s match for the Universal Title, that match, however, ended in a double count-out as a result of which both Strowman and Kane are now entitled to a shot at Lesnar’s Universal Title.

The heart of the matter

During his interaction with Miami Herald, Kane stated that with the Royal Rumble PPV he has got the opportunity to become a champion in the WWE once again, which, according to the “Red Big Machine”, is a rare sighting at this age and point of his career. Kane also claimed that it is a great opportunity for him at the Royal Rumble, where he is going to step into the ring with two other monsters in the form of Strowman and Lesnar.

“The Demon” then said that he is feeling somewhat outgunned heading into this mega triple threat match at the Rumble. Kane also praised his two Royal Rumble opponents Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar by saying that both of them are amazing athletes for their size.

“The amazing thing about those two guys are they’re just so awesomely athletic for their size. I mean, you hear people say ‘Oh, he’s a great athlete, for his size,’ but these guys are great athletes, doesn’t matter what size they are,” Kane stated.

What’s next?

Kane’s next mission will be to become the new Universal Champion at Royal Rumble but for that, he would have to overcome two of the most dominant stars in WWE right now - Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. The three men will clash against each other later this month, on January 28.

Author’s Take

Despite being one of the most feared superstars of all time, I think Kane will be the underdog in this triple threat match at the Royal Rumble. However, seeing “The Red Big Machine” win a World Title at the age of 50 will certainly be a huge surprise.
