What's the story?

A post on Twitter from Insane Championship Wrestling has revealed that the ICW World Heavyweight Champion, Joe Coffey is scheduled to defend his title against NXT Superstar Kassius Ohno. You can check out the post below.

In case you didn't know...

Originally pitched to be one of the Shield members, Kassius Ohno returned to the WWE a couple of months back and is currently in a feud with Hideo Itami on NXT. The feud began when the Japanese wrestler attacked Ohno, moments after "The Knockout Artist" saved Itami from Oney Lorcan.

The heart of the matter

In a recent post on Twitter, ICW or Insane Championship Wrestling revealed that Kassius Ohno will face their ICW World Heavyweight Champion Joe Coffey for his title. The match is scheduled to take place in Newcastle, England on the 19th of September, 2017.

The Knockout Artist himself seemed to be very excited about the potential match-up and even posted a tweet of his own.

This isn't the first time that WWE Superstars have been seen on ICW, with both Noam Dar and Pete Dunne appearing in previous events. This is mainly due to the strong relationship that the WWE has with ICW.

Coincidentally, this will be Kassius Ohno's first match outside of the WWE since re-joining the company in January of this year.

Joe Coffey is a two-time ICW World Heavyweight Champion, and his nickname, "The Iron Man" is a testament to his wrestling style. It will be interesting to see how The Knockout Artist handles such an opponent.

What's next?

As seen above, Kassius Ohno is set to face Joe Coffey for the ICW World Heavyweight Championship.

However, Ohno is currently in a feud with Hideo Itami, it will be interesting to see how Ohno's battle with Itami unfolds if Ohno were to win the ICW World Heavyweight Championship.

Author's take

Ohno is a talented wrestler who is capable of reaching great heights, it is nice to see him getting the title shot that a wrestler of his calibre deserves.

It is also heartening to see the WWE's openness to working with promotions outside of its own. Perhaps this is a sign of better things for the future.
