WWE News: Ken Shamrock says that he would have beaten Brock Lesnar in a real fight

Shamrock believes he would’ve beaten Brock Lesnar

What’s the story?

In a recent interview with Hannibal TV, former WWE superstar Ken Shamrock said that he would’ve beaten Brock Lesnar in a real fight.

In case you didn’t know...

Ken Shamrock has an impressive MMA record of 28-17 to his name. His last MMA fight came back in February 2016 when he faced Royce Gracie in a losing effort. Throughout his career, Shamrock has locked horns with juggernauts in MMA, including Tito Ortiz, Maurice Smith, and Don Frye.

The heart of the matter

Shamrock covered a wide range of topics in his latest interview with Hannibal TV. At one point, he went on to mention that in his prime, he would’ve beaten Brock Lesnar in a real fight.

“Being able to fight a guy like Brock Lesnar who is a wrestler, who has very limited skills in striking, in my prime and him in his prime, he doesn’t have a chance. How can you beat me? You can’t beat me. If I’m in my prime and I have all those skill sets, and in his prime, he was very limited in his skill sets, how can you beat me?”

He added that he is ready to return to the WWE but isn’t sure what stops Vince McMahon from making a call regarding the same.

What’s next?

Brock is known for ignoring such claims and it would be a big surprise if he reacts to what Shamrock said. Shamrock’s openness to make a WWE return, however, is good news. If Vince is up for it, WWE could strike a deal with him and give him one more run in the promotion.

Author’s take

Brock Lesnar vs. Ken Shamrock would’ve been a big fight for any promotion if it had happened a few years ago. Now, it seems too late to have a real fight between these two, as Shamrock’s age acts as a disadvantage for him. A showdown between these two in the professional wrestling world, meanwhile, still smells money.
