In case you didn't know...

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who reunited after Zayn saved Owens from the announce table during the latter's match against SmackDown Commissioner, Shane McMahon.

The duo began a feud with WWE Champion, AJ Styles last month, and both Zayn and Owens defeated Styles in singles matches.

'Kami', as they were mockingly labelled by Styles, were then awarded a shot at Styles' belt for Royal Rumble, where the twosome will face Styles in a 2-on-1 handicap match.

The heart of the matter

On being asked if he was fit enough to wrestle at Royal Rumble, Owens reply was a single "Yep".

This week's SmackDown Live kicked off with Owens and Zayn hyping up their Royal Rumble match, and after taunting Styles, the WWE Champion made an appearance.

The challengers played a video clipping of Styles who confidently proclaimed that he could beat both Owens and Zayn in singles competition on the same night.

SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan announced that Styles will face both Zayn and Owens in singles competition in back-to-back matches on SmackDown.

Styles faced Owens first and got in his offence almost immediately after the bell rang and in the process injured Owens' leg and the former US Champion tapped to Styles' Calf Crusher.

Styles, who had promised earlier in the night that he would inflict pain on Owens and Zayn, continued to get in kicks and punches on Owens even during Styles' match against Zayn.

It was during one of these assaults on Owens that Zayn capitalised and defeated Styles.

What's next?

Owens and Zayn will face off against Styles at Royal Rumble in a 2-on-1 handicap match at Royal Rumble and hope to become the first co-WWE Champions.

Royal Rumble will be held at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 28th January 2018.

This feud has become interesting and the repercussions of the Zayn-Owens vs. Styles match has also put a dent in the relationship between Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon, which makes for great viewing!
