What's the story?

We all saw Kevin Owens quit after his match against Seth Rollins on RAW. Now WWE is teasing the fact that he may actually miss his match at Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia.

Kevin Owens was supposed to team up with Elias to take on John Cena and Bobby Lashley. But WWE has spoken about Owens possibly missing the event, as recently reported by NoDQ.

In case you didn't know...

Kevin Owens was recently squashed by Braun Strowman at SummerSlam. The following week, he challenged Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship on RAW, in a pretty intense contest.

Seth Rollins picked up the win after a highly intense back and forth contest. Following the match, Kevin Owens said he quit, and walked out of the arena. While speculation abounds, nothing has been heard from the man since.

The heart of the matter

This is what WWE has to say about Kevin Owens possibly missing the event:

Cena teams with Lashley to go head-to-head against KO and Elias at the monumental event on Saturday, Oct. 6, marking the first time that these four Superstars have collectively shared the ring. While Cena and Owens look to reignite their storied rivalry, which culminated in a thrilling three-match series in 2015, Lashley and Elias no doubt have some unfinished business of their own, but how will these teams perform as a unit?
Cena and Lashley share a history as alumni of the Ruthless Aggression Era and are former Survivor Series teammates – they defeated five other Superstars in a Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Match back in 2006. With Lashley bent on taking care of “unfinished business,” can he and Cenapick up where they left off? As for Owens and Elias, KO revealed on the Aug. 27 edition of Raw that he “quits,” so it remains unknown at this time how that unexpected revelation will affect this scheduled match. Will Elias need to find a replacement?

As the note reveals, WWE is intent on making fans believe this storyline. Elias looking for a replacement could be a nice storyline in itself.

What's next?

It remains to be seen when Owens returns to TV. It also remains to be seen if he will indeed become a Paul Heyman guy. Many possibilities abound.

Whom do you want to see team up with Elias in Australia, if Owens doesn't make it? Let us know in the comments.
