In a recent development, Karina Steen, wife of WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens has deleted her Instagram account. All the pictures and videos that had been uploaded by her on her account are no longer available to the public.

This was done in reaction to online bullying. With the onset of social media, celebrities have become victims of hateful comments and scornful remarks and Karina is no different. There have been a number of hurtful comments about her children that made Karina take this step.

Earlier this year, after Kevin Owens had won the WWE Universal Championship on Monday Night RAW, Karina had posted a video of their son Owen reacting to his father's big win with animated excitement. However, ESPN Radio's Amin Elhassan spoiled the party when he replied to the video and wrote, "Until someone told him it was scripted."

Elhassan would continue to take several digs at pro wrestling and Owens in particular before apologising to the family for his remarks on Twitter.

Before deleting her page on the online image sharing website, Karina made an announcement. She expressed her anguish at online haters who would make harsh comments about her children. The announcement was as follows:

“Unfortunately due to online bullying I will be deleting this page. My new page is @daily_lolo it will be strictly brand repping. Unless you’re a shop, a mama, in the brand repping community or someone I know personally you will not be added.

It really makes me sad that I couldn’t keep this one going, as I’ve had it for several years. I don’t understand how people can say nasty hurtful things about these beautiful souls, but I will not put up with it anymore.”

The WWE Universe was left shocked at the announcement which can only be seen as a win for online bullying. The wife of current WWE Universal Champion made it clear that followers to her new page would be personally approved by her to avoid any future instances of online bullying.

She regretted having to shut down her account as she had been using it for a long time but clearly stated that she would not tolerate rude comments about her children.
