What’s the story?

It appears that Kurt Angle will not don swat gear the next time he steps inside the squared circle. The Olympic Gold Medalist took to Instagram to indicate that he was getting new ring gear for his next match.

In case you didn’t know...

Angle returned to the WWE earlier this year as the headliner for the Hall of Fame and replaced Mick Foley as the Raw General Manager.

Angle returned to the ring at the TLC pay-per-view and replaced Roman Reigns who was removed from the show due to illness. He donned the Shield attire and teamed with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to defeat The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman and Kane.

The heart of the matter

The picture Angle uploaded to Instagram was a work in progress, but it will more than likely resemble some of his previous designs in WWE or TNA which often incorporated the colours of the American Flag.

The last gear Angle wore on WWE programming was a singlet with a colour mix of blue, red, white and black in 2006 when he faced Sabu in a No.1 Contender’s match for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship

What’s next?

With Angle revealing that he’s getting more gear, it seems the Olympic Gold Medalist is telling fans that his TLC match won’t be his last bout.

Angle will more than likely wait to have his next match at WrestleMania, but there have been no opponents rumoured for the show in New Orleans. With no clear storylines in place, his potential Mania opponent could be anyone from Triple H to Jason Jordan.

However, there is also a chance that he could represent Team Raw at Survivor Series.

Author’s take

Angle looked good at TLC and will probably look even better the next time he steps into a WWE ring.
