WWE News: Kurt Angle on whether he has taken a WWE physical test yet

Kurt Angle can wrestle for WWE only after he passes the company’s routine physical examination.

What’s the story?

In a recent interview with Wrestlinginc, Kurt Angle gave the fans an insight on several issues surrounding his WWE return including whether he has taken a physical examination for an in-ring return, his role as the RAW General Manager, the AngleStrong app, his talks with Triple H and much more.

In case you didn’t know...

After being inducted into the WWE Hall-of-Fame this year, the Olympic gold-medalist Kurt Angle was named as the General Manager of Monday Night RAW after Wrestlemania 33. He returned to the company after an 11-year hiatus following his initial departure back in 2006.

The heart of the matter:

Angle praised the WWE’s Wellness Policy and opined that the product has changed since 2006 and has now become more PG and family-oriented, catering to all kinds of audiences. He also spoke about his GM position being a potential hurdle in his in-ring return, his talk with Triple H and his rehab app-

"I don't know about 'soon'. I think that the general manager role is going to last a little while. I don't think they want me to go any step further than that, but you do have to keep in mind that until I take the physical (no in-ring return will happen). I don't know when it's going to occur, but I'd say it'd most likely occur. But, I'd say probably near the end of the year is what I'm guessing and I really don't know."

"I did hint to Triple H at the very beginning of our talks that I did want to wrestle again and he said, 'we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. You're going to have to take a physical and you're going to have to pass.' So he said, 'let's just take it one step at a time.' I really believe, and this was not mentioned by anybody, and this is my own belief, I really believe they want to see how I do. They want to see if I really am the person I say I am, that I've been staying clean for four years, that I've got my life together, that I have everything on track. It's a bit of a longer process, but you've got to earn back the trust."

Besides, in collaboration with Dr Harold Jonas, Kurt has launched the AngleStrong app that helps recovering addicts, access routine, structured rehabilitation schedules and promises to serve as a backup if they were to miss their periodical AA meetings.

What’s next?

Angle, who is presently under contract with WWE and is the on-screen General Manager of the red brand, will play a key role in the post-Mania season in the weeks to come. There have been reports of WWE planning on having Triple H and Angle go at it at WrestleMania 34, which is one of the reasons why Angle has been made the GM.

Author’s take

Kudos to the Wrestling Machine for his straight-talk and a big shout-out to the AngleStrong app that helps recovering addicts overcome their demons. I, for one, seriously hope Kurt passes the WWE physical examination, if and when he chooses to undergo one, and returns to the ring in all his former glory.

You Su**! Rock!
